was founded in 1980,

from the family business, Dayalal Dharamshi & Sons,

a
company importing and wholesaling sundry goods since 1965.
|
|
|
The company produced suitcases initially and as it grew expanded
|
|
|
its product lines into footwear and bags.
|
|
| Today, KSM is a leading producer of footwear and travel bags in | |
|
Kenya. The company serves both local markets and exports to
|
|
|
countries within the PTA region. The company has an extensive
|
|
|
network of distributors both within and outside Kenya for its products.
|
|
|
The
directors have geared themselves to meet these challenges by investing
in industrial property near Mazeras, located close
|
|
| to Mombasa, for major expansion project. This is through KSM's sister companies namely Mazeras Kenya (EPZ) Ltd and | |
| Omicron Investments (EPZ) Ltd. | |
| Mazeras Kenya (EPZ) Ltd is situated on a 10 acre plot along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway at Mazeras township. The EPZ is | |
| occupied by two foreign investors manufacturing textile products for U.S.A Market (AGOA) and has vacant land for further | |
| industrial development. Omicron is another upcoming zone that is on 4 acres. It is to become the ultimate area for export | |
| processing zone investors in Mombasa. | |

The
company directors are Mr. Sailesh Shah
and Mr. Pravin Shah, who took over
the first family business, began KSM
|
|
| and transformed the company to its present size by increasing product lines, company buyouts and buying industrial property | |
| to increase capacity. Both the executive directors are involved in the running of the business and strategic planning for the | |
| future. They have now been joined by the next generation, Vishal Shah, Binit shah and Saagar Shah, who with their qualifications, | |
|
drive
and determination are gearing the company towards a brighter future
with new ideas and strategies. Products

| footwear and travel bags. The main lines are: Ladies pumps, Travel bags, Sport shoes, and Ladies Sandals. | |

The
company has been financially sound and its stability is a reflection
of the managerial and entrepreneurial

capabilities
of the directors.

| In its ever expanding product line using the latest production technologies and techniques the company produces a variety of | |
| sandals. It also plans to restart its soft luggage line as its already has required machinery. | |
